- 1) Operates crawler-tire or pneumatic-tire mounted tamping machine to compact earthen fills and finished road materials: Drives machine to work area.
- 2) Moves levers to control tamping action of machine.
- 3) May operate machine with interchangeable hammers to cut or break up pavement and drive guardrail posts into earth.
