Job Description:

• 1) Tends machine that cuts tobacco into shreds for use in making cigarettes: Starts feeders, ordering drum, conveyors, and cutting machine.

• 2) Observes operation of conveyors and cutting machine and pulls lever to regulate flow of tobacco on conveyor to prevent jamming.

• 3) May tighten bolts that hold knives, or may change knives, using wrench and screwdriver, and maintain record of knives used.
