Job Description:

• 1) Assists RIGGER in moving, lifting, and positioning machinery and structural members of ships under repair or construction: Positions chain falls or hoists, air pullers, and block and tackle as directed by RIGGER.

• 2) Pulls or slacks off on rigging, following hand signals, to maneuver equipment in close quarters, lay keel and bilge blocks in drydock, and position ship in drydock.

• 3) May issue and maintain rigging gear in rigging loft and be designated Rigging-Loft Repairer.
