- 1) Tends machine that winds binding around boned hams: Threads binding string through winding shaft and starts machine.
- 2) Impales boned ham on spiked pilot.
- 3) Pushes lever to engage winding shaft with pilot and steps on treadle to wind string spirally around ham.
- 4) Holds ham between hands during winding to maintain its round shape.
- 5) Stops machine, cuts and ties string, and removes bound ham.
