Job Description:
- 1) Coordinates activities of detectives investigating homicide cases for clues and evidence leading to arrest and conviction of guilty parties: Proceeds to scene of crime and takes charge of investigation.
- 2) Orders detention of persons in vicinity of crime for questioning.
- 3) Directs photographing position of body and other evidence.
- 4) Directs DETECTIVES, HOMICIDE SQUAD in search for clues at crime scene.
- 5) Questions witnesses and suspects.
- 6) Prepares and submits report on crime to superior.
- 7) May assign subordinates to specific cases.
- 8) May evaluate and prepare work performance reports on subordinates.
- 9) May be designated according to rank as Homicide-Squad Captain; Homicide-Squad Lieutenant; Homicide-Squad Sergeant.
