Job Description:

• 1) Operates pipe-wrapping machine to coat pipelines with asphalt or other corrosion-resisting compounds and wrap them spirally with fabrics, such as glass cloth and felt paper, to form protective coating that prevents electrolytic decomposition of oil and gas pipelines: Inspects paper holders and observes flow of hot compounds into reservoir to maintain adequate supply of materials.

• 2) Starts engine and moves levers to activate mechanism that rotates paper head around pipe and propels machine along pipeline.

• 3) Turns valves to regulate flow of dope to coat pipe.
