Job Description:
- 1) Cleans water filter beds: Holds suction pipe to transfer sand and gravel from filter bed onto regrading screens.
- 2) Washes and simultaneously screens sand and gravel to remove foreign particles and grade material according to size, using water hose.
- 3) Turns handle to backwash filter to remove chemical precipitates and impurities.
- 4) Scrapes and removes dirt from side of filter bed, using metal scraper.
- 5) Reverses action of suction pipe to return gravel and sand to filter bed.
- 6) Records daily production.
- 7) May clean and redistribute sand in filter bed, using sand cleaning machine.
- 8) May lubricate and repair defective filtering equipment.
