Job Description:
- 1) Tends vacuum pan to wash and dry crystallized tetryl powder for further processing into explosives: Opens release valve to transfer tetryl from crystallizer to vacuum pan.
- 2) Fills pan with warm water and turns suction valve to draw off liquid and dissolved impurities, leaving powder to settle in felt bag.
- 3) Shovels and scrapes powder into tub on handtruck.
- 4) May scrape powder into trays and place trays in drying chambers.
