- 1) Tends machine that flattens, shapes, and smooths leather insoles and outsoles: Turns handle to adjust holding device to fit shoe.
- 2) Positions shoe on pin jack and against holding device.
- 3) Starts machine that forces shoe against presser roller and moves roller back and forth over sole to flatten ridges, bulges, and nicks caused by other operations.
- 4) May move levers to control motion of roller.
