Job Description:
- 1) Forms rubber wax injection molds by vulcanizing pieces of rubber around metal sample: Places metal sample into frame and packs raw rubber around sample.
- 2) Clamps sample, frame, and rubber into vulcanizing machine.
- 3) Turns on machine, waits specified time, and removes mold from machine.
- 4) Splits mold into two pieces to remove metal sample, using knife or scalpel.
- 5) Inspects mold for defects.
- 6) May form investment molds around wax patterns.
- 7) May operate centrifugal casting machine.
- 8) May burn grooves or crevices in mold to correct defects, using soldering gun.
