Job Description:

• 1) Tests samples of gravel to determine suitability for use in highway construction: Weighs sample before and after heating to determine moisture content.

• 2) Screens gravel through numbered screens to determine coarseness of sample.

• 3) May perform other duties in material testing laboratory, such as hardness tests, breakage tests, density tests for flexible base, compression and tensile strength tests, and tests for stress and strain.
