Job Description:

• 1) Examines various units of vessels during construction for faulty work quality and compliance with blueprint specifications and Navy standards, using measuring tools: Inspects welded joints for specified fusion.

• 2) Examines structural units to determine that frames, plates, and foundations are assembled, according to blueprint specifications.

• 3) Examines installation of machinery and gear, checking on alignment and operation.

• 4) Checks installation and operation of electrical wiring and equipment.

• 5) Examines piping and sheet metalwork.

• 6) Supervises tests on tanks, pipes, and bulkheads.
