Job Description:

• 1) Tends machines that weld ends of wire together to form continuous coil and draw wire through dies to reduce wire to specified diameter: Lifts reels of wire onto spindle of floor stand, manually, or using hoist.

• 2) Welds ends of wire together, using welding machine.

• 3) Smooths weld to diameter of wire, using abrasive cloth.

• 4) Threads wire around tension rollers, and through reducing dies, and fastens end of wire to spindle.

• 5) Starts machine that draws wire through dies and around takeup reel.

• 6) May verify diameter of drawn wire, using micrometer.

• 7) May record production.
