Job Description:

• 1) Tends equipment that recovers cadmium, lead sulfate, and zinc oxide from dust collected in precipitators: Signals OVERHEAD CRANE OPERATOR to dump dust into tank from which it is processed through series of sulfating tanks to precipitate and wash lead sulfate and cadmium.

• 2) Pumps washed liquor to another tank for treatment prior to recovery of zinc oxide.

• 3) Prepares lime solution and mixes it with zinc oxide liquor.

• 4) Titrates samples or tests solution for acidity and specific gravity, using hydrometer.

• 5) Distills cadmium in retort furnace.
