Job Description:

• 1) Cleans water filter beds: Holds suction pipe to transfer sand and gravel from filter bed onto regrading screens.

• 2) Washes and simultaneously screens sand and gravel to remove foreign particles and grade material according to size, using water hose.

• 3) Turns handle to backwash filter to remove chemical precipitates and impurities.

• 4) Scrapes and removes dirt from side of filter bed, using metal scraper.

• 5) Reverses action of suction pipe to return gravel and sand to filter bed.

• 6) Records daily production.

• 7) May clean and redistribute sand in filter bed, using sand cleaning machine.

• 8) May lubricate and repair defective filtering equipment.
