Job Description:

• 1) Reheats blown or pressed glassware in furnace to fire-polish glassware and make it malleable for further processing: Clamps snap on hot glassware, grasps snap, and inserts glassware into furnace opening.

• 2) Rotates ware to heat it evenly to ensure retention of its molded shape.

• 3) Withdraws ware from furnace when it is heated to an orange-red color.

• 4) May remove or add clay to furnace opening to enlarge or reduce its size to accommodate glassware being processed.

• 5) May adjust fans to control ventilation that blows fire blast back into furnace and cools snap handle.
