Job Description:

• 1) Tends tumbling barrels that impregnate shotgun-shell filler wads with wax to seal propellant charge against moisture and facilitate ejection of wad when shell is fired: Weighs and dumps specified quantity of wads and wax into steam-heated barrel.

• 2) Stops barrel at end of prescribed time and examines wads for color shade indicating sufficient impregnation.

• 3) Weighs specified number of impregnated wads and compares with weight of equal number of dry wads, using chart, to confirm that correct amount of wax has been absorbed.
