Job Description:

• 1) Tends equipment units that generate hydrogen chloride to facilitate process control by ABSORPTION OPERATOR: Installs chlorine cylinders in chlorinating unit.

• 2) Starts equipment and pumps to mix metered amount of chlorine with hydrochloric acid from absorption system and to transfer chlorinated acid to feed tanks of stripper still.

• 3) Draws samples of product for laboratory analysis, or tests sample for specific gravity, acidity, and composition to maintain product specifications, using such instruments as hydrometer and pH meter.

• 4) Maintains records of tank levels, gauge and instrument readings, and inventory of materials used and produced.
