Job Description:

• 1) Inspects and maintains automatic switches that turn street lights on and off: Climbs pole, using ladder or climbing spurs, and opens switchbox.

• 2) Examines switch to detect such defects as burned contacts or faulty mercury tubes.

• 3) Tests switch and circuit to locate short circuits or grounded wires, using test lamp.

• 4) Repairs or replaces broken or defective parts, using handtools.
