Job Description:

• 1) Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating reverberatory furnaces and casting machines to smelt and cast copper: Observes gauges and color of flames in furnace and adjusts valves to ensure combustion of fuels.

• 2) Regulates furnace dampers to maintain specified temperatures.

• 3) Observes color and surface characteristics of bath to determine pouring temperatures and oxygen content of copper.

• 4) Inspects operation of casting wheels to ensure uniform product.

• 5) Performs other duties as described under SUPERVISOR Master Title.
