Job Description:

• 1) Conducts stress analyses on engineering designs for electronic components, systems, and products, using mathematical formulas and computer-aided engineering systems: Analyzes engineering designs, schematics, and customer specifications to determine stress requirements on product.

• 2) Formulates mathematical model or three-dimensional computer graphic model of product, using calculator or CAE system.

• 3) Analyzes ability of product to withstand stress imposed by conditions such as temperature, loads, motion, and vibration, using mathematical formulas and computer simulation.

• 4) Builds product model of wood or other material, performs physical stress tests on model, and evaluates test results.

• 5) Consults with ELECTRONICS-DESIGN ENGINEER to recommend design modifications of product based on results of stress analysis.

• 6) Prepares stress analysis reports.
