Job Description:

• 1) Tends trimming machine fitted with rotary cutting knives or single blade on spring pole to trim rough roofing slate to largest size that slabs will make: Sets notched bar that enables slab to be cut to desired size.

• 2) Holds irregular slate slab beneath rotating cutting blade to trim edges.

• 3) Turns slab and trims other edges.

• 4) Sharpens cutting knives on grinding wheel.

• 5) May split flagstone along cut line, using hammer and chisel.
