Job Description:

• 1) Tends open tank that impregnates sheets of woodpulp with caustic soda for use in rayon production: Positions rectangular sheets of pulp between perforated separator plates, using tongs.

• 2) Turns valves to admit caustic solution and steam into tank.

• 3) Drains tank after specified steeping time.

• 4) Presses button to activate hydraulic ram that presses excess caustic from steeped sheets and discharges sheets into shredder.
