Job Description:

• 1) Heats steel rods in furnace preparatory to forging boat or track spikes: Shoves rods into furnace and spaces them evenly with pry bar to ensure uniform heating.

• 2) Pushes heated rods from furnace, using cold rod, on signal from SPIKE-MACHINE FEEDER.

• 3) May adjust furnace temperature control, clean, and lubricate equipment as specified.
