Job Description:

• 1) Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of blood vessels to aid physician in diagnosis and treatment of disease: Positions patient in examining position, using immobilization devices, such as head or shoulder braces.

• 2) Operates fluoroscope to aid physician to view and guide wire or catheter through blood vessel to area of interest.

• 3) Fills automatic injector with contrast media, sets flow rate, and activates injection of contrast media into blood vessels of patient, as directed by physician.

• 4) Monitors video display of area of interest and adjusts density and contrast to obtain optimum exposure.

• 5) Starts filming sequence.

• 6) Delivers film to dark room to be developed and reviews developed x rays for accuracy of positioning and quality of exposure techniques.
