Job Description:

• 1) Raises soft-shell crabs for food markets by catching crabs from sea and retaining them in tanks until they molt: Catches crabs, using lines.

• 2) Sorts crabs according to stages of shell development and dumps them into open tanks containing sea water.

• 3) Starts pumps to aerate water and maintain constant flow of sea water through tanks.

• 4) Observes crabs to ascertain when they begin to shed their brittle outer shell.

• 5) Holds shell being shed, when necessary, to assist emerging crab that gets hung in shell during molting.

• 6) Gathers freshly emerged soft-shell crabs and places them in containers for shipment to market.
