Job Description:

• 1) Tends equipment that transfers steel slabs from conveyor onto charging table of reheating furnace: Moves controls to transfer slab from conveyor onto depiler.

• 2) Measures slab for conformance to specifications, using tape, and compares identifying marks on slab with information on charging schedule.

• 3) Pushes levers to lower depiler table and cause pushoff arm of depiler to push slab onto charging table.

• 4) Assists furnace crew in cleaning bottom of furnace and hearth and in positioning slabs in furnace.
