Job Description:

• 1) Collects samples of materials, such as benzol, coal, coke, sewer water, sulfate, and tar, and prepares them for laboratory analysis: Shovels coal into crusher to grind samples for analysis.

• 2) Drops weighed sample of coke from drop-door bucket to steelplate, shakes shattered coke through screen of specified mesh and weighs and records weights of large and small sized coke.

• 3) Weighs sample, dries it in oven, and reweighs sample of quenched coke to determine moisture content.

• 4) Identifies type and source of sample on container label.

• 5) May be designated according to source of sample as Sampler, Ovens.
