Job Description:

• 1) Tends automatic machines that cut, grind, or polish glass products, such as glass tubes or glassware: Reads work orders to determine product specifications.

• 2) Loads product onto machine holding and feeding devices, and starts machine that cuts, grinds, or polishes glass products.

• 3) Monitors machine operation to detect malfunctions.

• 4) Visually inspects parts for defects, such as cracks and chips.

• 5) Removes finished product from machine after completion of cycle.

• 6) May replace worn cutters or grinding and polishing wheels, using handtools.

• 7) May adjust cutter spacing and fixtures to cut tubes to specified lengths.

• 8) May manually grind, buff, or polish glass surfaces.

• 9) May pack product for shipping.

• 10) May clean machine and work area.
