Job Description:

• 1) Analyzes and repairs defects in communication equipment, such as telephone switchboards, teletypewriters, and mobile radiophones on customers' premises: Tests equipment to locate malfunctions, using circuit diagrams, polar probes, meters, and telephone test set.

• 2) Isolates and analyzes malfunction to determine method of repair, according to knowledge of equipment and test readings.

• 3) Repairs or replaces defective equipment, using handtools, soldering iron, or wire wrap gun.

• 4) Retests equipment to verify completeness of repair.

• 5) May install equipment.
