Job Description:

• 1) Performs any combination of following tasks in seismic prospecting for petroleum-bearing rock strata: Drives equipment truck to work sites.

• 2) Unloads and carries explosives and seismometers to designated locations on terrain.

• 3) Unreels and connects electrical cables between seismometers and recording equipment in truck.

• 4) Guides drill pipe and casing into shotholes.

• 5) Loads shotholes with explosives.

• 6) Runs water or pours sand into shotholes to tamp charge.

• 7) Washes printed seismograph records with solutions.

• 8) Repairs automotive and prospecting equipment.

• 9) May be designated according to specific duty performed as Prospecting-Driller Helper; Shooter Helper, Seismograph.
