Job Description:

• 1) Operates power shovel that loads coal or rock into mine cars or onto conveyors in underground mines: Drives rubber-tired, crawled-tread, or rail-mounted machine into working place.

• 2) Makes power connections and starts machine.

• 3) Moves levers to force shovel into pile, lift and revolve shovel, and dump contents into mine car or onto conveyor.

• 4) Advances machine into pile as digging progresses.

• 5) Lubricates, adjusts, and repairs machine.
