Job Description:

• 1) Tends gas- or oil-fired kiln that burns lime sludge to recover lime: Turns panel controls to adjust burner and flow of sludge into kiln according to temperature gauges.

• 2) Starts conveyor that carries lime from kiln to hopper of slaking machine.

• 3) May tend washers and filters that remove cooking liquor from sludge before it is burned.
