Job Description:

• 1) Builds temporary casing doors and seals crown openings in kilns, using handtools: Stacks brick in doorway of kiln.

• 2) Mixes dirt and water to form mud, and spreads mud over brick to seal opening, using trowel.

• 3) Climbs on top of kiln and places covers or crown openings over kiln and seals them with mud.

• 4) Positions and screws burners in openings.

• 5) Pulls down doors with hook after firing of kiln and removes crown covers to control cooling.
