Job Description:

• 1) Tends gas-fired evaporator that recovers gold, platinum, and palladium from electrolyte used in gold-refining tanks: Adds liquid and gaseous reagents to electrolyte and heats it in evaporator to precipitate metals.

• 2) Separates each precipitate from solution, using porcelain filters.

• 3) Heats platinum and palladium precipitates in crucible furnaces to make sponge.

• 4) Breaks up sponge preparatory to shipment, using pliers.
