Job Description:

• 1) Operates lathe to grind jewel bearings to specified thickness: Mounts fixture in chuck of lathe and inserts jewel bearing into recess of fixture, using tweezers.

• 2) Mounts grinding disk impregnated with diamond dust on opposite faceplate of lathe.

• 3) Manipulates controls to bring bearing into contact with grinding disk and to govern grinding process, working to tolerances of 0.

• 4) 0005 inch.

• 5) Examines bearings, using measuring instruments, such as gauges and micrometers, to ensure conformance with specifications.
