Job Description:

• 1) Inspects and grades agricultural products, such as carrots, rose bushes, strawberry plants, and tobacco, in field or shed, according to marketing specifications: Estimates weight of product visually and by feel.

• 2) Verifies count.

• 3) Looks at, feels, and smells product, as required by its nature, to determine grade and identify substandard products.

• 4) Places rejected products and individual grades of products in designated piles, containers, or areas.

• 5) May pay harvest hands.

• 6) May oversee field hauling.

• 7) May be designated according to kind of product as Carrot Grader-Inspector; Rose Grader; Tobacco Grader; Watermelon Inspector.
