Job Description:

• 1) Inspects hoofs and shoes of horses at racetrack to determine that hoofs have been trimmed to prevent stumbling during race and to detect loose or broken shoes: Records names of horse, owner, and RACEHORSE TRAINER and condition of horse's hoofs and shoes.

• 2) Presents information to STEWARD, RACETRACK for further action.

• 3) May remove and replace broken or cracked plates.

• 4) May instruct handlers to secure plates or trim horses hoofs as required.
