Job Description:

• 1) Inspects stringed instruments, such as banjos and guitars, for tone, finish, and mechanical action: Tightens strings of instrument by hand.

• 2) Plucks and adjusts strings to test tonal quality and intonation.

• 3) Examines instrument for flaws in construction and finish.

• 4) Adjusts alignment of parts, using handtools.

• 5) Files and sands rough areas and applies lacquer over areas with brush.

• 6) Buffs lacquered areas, using power-buffing wheel.
