Job Description:

• 1) Tends rotary drum-filters that separate slurries into liquid and filter cake: Couples flexible hose or pipe to vat, starts pump, and turns valves to regulate flow of slurry to filter tanks.

• 2) Adjusts controls to regulate rotation speed of drums.

• 3) Turns valve to regulate pressure that forces slurry through filter, separating filter cake from liquid.

• 4) Observes discharge to ensure that scrapers are removing filter cake from drum.

• 5) May tend thickeners, washing sprays, settlers, or related equipment.

• 6) May draw sample for laboratory analysis.

• 7) May be known according to trade name of machine.
