Job Description:

• 1) Tends machine that pumps gas to retard decay of fresh fruits and vegetables during storage and shipment: Loads machine with chlorine and salt.

• 2) Starts machine that pumps gas into storage space or freight car.

• 3) Periodically tests concentration of gas, using comparometer, and adjusts flow accordingly.

• 4) Stops machine when specified time has elapsed and blows gas from storage area or freight car.
