Job Description:

• 1) Plans and directs statewide program of public health education and promotes establishment of local health services: Directs workers engaged in preparation and distribution of health information materials, such as brochures, films, weight charts, and first-aid kits.

• 2) Promotes establishment or expansion of local health services and provides technical assistance to individuals and groups conducting [health conferences, workshops, and training courses.

• 3) Answers health information requests received by department or reviews correspondence prepared by others.

• 4) Coordinates special health education campaigns during epidemics, rabies outbreaks, instances of food poisoning, and similar emergencies.

• 5) May direct health education activities in public schools.
