Job Description:

• 1) Tends centrifugal casting machine that casts tubular metal products, such as pipes, brakedrums, or bushings: Lays specified mold on spinning mechanism.

• 2) Brushes dirt and metal fragments from inside of mold.

• 3) Places and fastens cover on ends of mold.

• 4) Preheats mold with torch.

• 5) Starts machine and sprays insulation on inside surface of rotating mold.

• 6) Pours molten metal into mold, using hand ladle.

• 7) Allows mold to spin for specified time to solidify metal against mold walls.

• 8) Unfastens mold cover and removes casting, using tongs or hydraulic ram.

• 9) May set machine controls to rotate mold at specified speed.
