Job Description:

• 1) Controls kilns to reclaim char used in filtering corn syrups: Turns valve to admit gas to kilns.

• 2) Specifies to BONE-CHAR KILN TENDER temperature to maintain in kiln.

• 3) Reads pyrometers to verify temperature.

• 4) Observes operation of char conveyors to prevent spillage.

• 5) Collects and replaces temperature-recording graphs.

• 6) Patches flues, plugs up retorts, and replaces broken or worn parts in kiln.
