Job Description:

• 1) Inspects and tests automotive cooling systems to diagnose malfunctions and estimates cost of repairs: Questions customer and examines cooling system, hoses, and connections to determine nature and extent of malfunctions.

• 2) Tests and analyzes electrical, vacuum, pressure, and related functions of system components to locate cause of malfunctions, using vacuum tester, pressure tester, voltmeter, and other specialized test equipment and handtools.

• 3) Compiles estimate of system repair costs and secures customer approval to perform repairs.

• 4) Occasionally assists AUTOMOBILE-RADIATOR MECHANIC in repair of cooling system components, using mechanic's handtools.

• 5) Computes parts and labor charges and routes customer bill to office.
