Job Description:

• 1) Inspects and tests automobiles and trucks to determine need for and cost of repairs: Determines need for repairs by road test, by questioning customer about vehicle's performance, or by visual inspection of vehicle.

• 2) Estimates cost of repair and prepares itemized work order, listing costs of parts and labor.

• 3) May make minor adjustments or repairs, such as brake adjustment, battery cable replacement, or hinge lubrication.

• 4) May supervise AUTOMOBILE-BODY REPAIRER ; AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC ; PAINTER, TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT ; and other garage workers.

• 5) May be designated according to specialty as Truck-Repair-Service Estimator.
