Job Description:

• 1) Operates steam or electric winch to hoist or lower cargo in or out of ship's hold: Inspects booms, lashings, and wire rope to assure safe operation.

• 2) Moves levers to raise, lower, and turn load.

• 3) Follows hand signals of HATCH TENDER to control movement of load when it is obscured.
