Job Description:
- 1) Tends series of vibrating screens that separate crushed ore or stone according to size: Pushes controls to start screens vibrating and move ore on conveyors or belts.
- 2) Pulls levers to discharge crushed ore from conveyor or chute onto vibrating screens.
- 3) Clears screen holes clogged with oversize ore, using bar.
- 4) Removes clogged screens, using wrenches, and cleans them with compressed air.
- 5) May tend conveyor belts and process ore through crushers.
- 6) May obtain ore samples, using mechanical sampler, hand sieve, or splitter.
- 7) May tend screens that separate phosphate rock from matrix and be designated Feed-Preparation Operator.
