Job Description:
- 1) Performs any combination of following tasks in seismic prospecting for petroleum-bearing rock strata: Drives equipment truck to work sites.
- 2) Unloads and carries explosives and seismometers to designated locations on terrain.
- 3) Unreels and connects electrical cables between seismometers and recording equipment in truck.
- 4) Guides drill pipe and casing into shotholes.
- 5) Loads shotholes with explosives.
- 6) Runs water or pours sand into shotholes to tamp charge.
- 7) Washes printed seismograph records with solutions.
- 8) Repairs automotive and prospecting equipment.
- 9) May be designated according to specific duty performed as Prospecting-Driller Helper; Shooter Helper, Seismograph.
