Job Description:

• 1) Compares glow inside forge shop furnace with color intensity chart to determine internal temperature of furnace, using pyrometer: Looks through pyrometer into furnace and compares intensity of light generated by furnace with chart depicting color at various temperatures to determine internal furnace temperature.

• 2) Informs specified forging personnel of observed temperature to permit designated adjustments to furnace controls, maintenance work, and production rescheduling.
